This policy explains what data Weekly LLC ("Weekly", "we", "us") collects when you use the Weekly app and weeklybudgeting.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
The short version
- We collect only what we need to run Weekly and make it better.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- You can delete your account and all of its data at any time from the app's Settings.
What we collect
Account information. Your email address, and your name and profile photo if you sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook.
Your budget. The budgets, funds, bills, transactions and notes you enter in the app.
Bank data. If you connect a bank, Plaid sends us your account names, balances and transactions. We never see or store your bank login.
Receipt photos. If you scan a receipt or choose a screenshot of one, we store the image with the transaction it belongs to.
Usage and device data. The screens and features you use, your device model, operating system, app version, IP address, and crash reports.
How we use it
- To run Weekly: sync your bank, calculate your budget, and keep your data in step across your devices.
- To read receipts: we send a receipt image to Google's Gemini model on Vertex AI, which reads the merchant, date and amount. Google does not use your images to train its models.
- To support you when you contact us.
- To find and fix bugs, and to keep the Service secure.
- To send you product updates and tips. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- To measure our ads, as described under Facebook below.
Who we share it with
We share data only with the service providers that run parts of Weekly for us. They may use it only to provide their service to us.

Payments. Subscriptions are paid through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your card details.
Facebook. The app uses the Facebook SDK for Facebook sign-in. It also sends app events, such as installs, to Facebook so we can measure our ads. You can limit ad tracking in your device's privacy settings, or opt out of interest-based ads in your Facebook ad settings.
Legal reasons. We may disclose data if the law requires it, to protect the rights or safety of Weekly, our users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the company. In a sale, we will tell you before your data moves to a different privacy policy.
Cookies
The Weekly app does not use cookies. Our website uses Plausible, which does not use cookies. We do not respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, because the website does not track you.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account from the app's Settings, we permanently remove your data. When you remove a receipt from a transaction, we delete the image. We may keep a limited amount of data longer when the law requires it, or to resolve disputes.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your data in the app at any time.
- Delete your account and all of its data from the app's Settings.
- Unsubscribe from email with the link in any email.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct, restrict or delete it, by emailing support@weeklybudgeting.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California or another place with privacy laws, you have these rights under those laws, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. Where the GDPR applies, we process your data to provide the Service you signed up for, with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time, for our legitimate interest in improving and securing Weekly, and to comply with the law.
Where your data is stored
Weekly is based in the United States, and we store and process your data there. If you use Weekly from outside the United States, your data is transferred to the United States.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Weekly is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the effective date above. For important changes, we will also tell you by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
